About Us

Our ethics and values are woven into our work – we are not just here to sell you low cost washing machines or sofas, we are here to make a difference to the lives of our customers and to the local environment.

We extensively refurbish unwanted white goods, furniture, appliances and other household goods, and provides them at low cost to local people in need.

Additionally, we also offer a range of volunteering and accredited training opportunities for people who are out of work, want to develop new skills, or want to gain vital work experience.

Our work benefits local communities in two main ways.

Firstly by being able to sell quality, warranty assured white goods and furniture at low cost.

This means fewer people get themselves in to debt in order to finance something as necessary as having a bed to sleep in or a cooker to cook on.

Secondly, we are proud to provide charitable donations to be able to furnish places such as refuges or sheltered accommodation.

This means that your donated goods are sure to find a very welcome new home, whilst also avoiding being left in landfill

Volunteering and work experience placements

We also offer volunteering and work experience placements, during which we provide training and facilitate gaining qualifications that can help people’s employability and future prospects – but often they end up becoming part of the team here at Furniture Matters!
